BDSM: It's Not What You Think! About a year ago we had the pleasure of being asked to participate in a student film project being shot for a class at San Francisco State University. The film featured many important people in the local San Francisco BDSM community so we were very honored to be asked to participate. It was well received after it's initial class presentation and due to the positive response the filmmakers have expanded upon it and entered it into the Frameline International Film Festival where it will be having it's premier screening on Friday June 20th at 10pm at the Roxie Theater in San Francisco, CA!

When I was a teenager in Boston, I would tag along with some older friends to Harvard Square and go to the Saturday midnight showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. People were dressed up as the characters and we all had a great time participating with the movie. There was a stage set up where a group would act out the entire movies as it went along, BUT to make it even more interesting, the characters all played other parts: i.e. The guy dressed as Riff Raff played Janet's part.
I think we should start something like this in SF with Firefly.

I met up with Gina and Natasha It was so nice to have some girl time! It was also nice to get a few minutes to catch up wtih fd_midori and Kelly (Is it okay to have crushes on your friends? sigh) Midori had on a gorgeous latex ensemble and it was enticing to hug her and smell the rubber while being surrounded by the constant light scent of leather.

Just being there for orientation made me want to spread the good word of SFSI. The training they offer has the most wonderful ripple effect. It gives honest sex education to those who will in turn be educating, counseling, and spreading the sex positive environment created there. I would have loved to have something like this when I was growing up. My parents did the best they could, but it mostly was a matter of handing me an article to read and then walking away quickly before I had a chance to ask questions.

Despite the fact that the Planning Department agreed to our use prior to the purchase, the Mayor pressured them into holding a public hearing on March 8th 10-12:30 in City Hall, room 416.
This is an ‘informational meeting’ designed to hear community feedback, and there will be no vote. However, in order to prevent the city from attempting to rezone the Armory, It is important that we show up in force and that we outnumber the protestors, so please save the date! We will send out more information nearer the time.

When I was a kid, I equated it to the thrill of getting a new notebook (I was a bit of a nerd): anything can go in that notebook. There are no pages in there that hold anything bad or unresolved... it is just waiting for new information to be stored, and it's up to me what to put in there.
I am feeling so grateful for all that I have, who I have in my life, and what adventures lay ahead.

Time changes today - I really didn't want to be up at 6:00am on a Sunday, but it's nice to have some quite time to post here and have some coffee while the dog sleeps on my lap.
God what a month! We are pushing ourselves to get the show going again; we miss it so much. (if we could only quit our day jobs...)
We have three great shows sitting in "the can" so hopefully we come out with a weekly for a bit. We experienced some technical difficulties that hurt the quality of the sound of the shows, but with the wonders of technology, it seems like we can clean them up so that it sounds fine (but my goal is to have them sounding wonderful). Fortunately, the guests on these shows have voices that are so velvety and/or powerful that it can't be too bad.
Okay, so here's the part where I briefly explain what the hell has been going on - no violins needed, it may seem like I'm going the 'woe is me route' but it's all been time spent on one of the wonderful roller-coasters in life that side track us:
Atticus' job had some deadlines that had him working until 3:00am for a couple of weeks (but they have been more than generous in return with extra vaca days, large gift cards and verbal appreciation) We had a wonderful Folsom (to be discussed very soon) Surprise guests to stay with us for a few days after Folsom
And what really threw us for a loop was that I got a call about a possible new job, I really wasn't looking because one new job in a household is enough for a couple of months - and I interviewed for 2 days and took the job.
Right after accepting the job, we left for the Podcast Conference in southern California (which you will hear about because there was quite a meeting of the erotic podcasting minds there that may lead to some wonderful enhancements in collective information reaching the public!)
We returned from the Conference and had two days to unpack, do laundry and pack for our European vacation. I felt obligated to work full days then to start cleaning up my old job for my partner I was leaving there. Needless to say, I could have pack better.
The vacation was the BEST either of us ever had! (again, details to follow)
I gave my old job one week after we got back. I was with the company for almost 15 years, so I had a LOT of transfer of knowledge to do. And because I really wasn't planning on leaving, I did nothing to prepare for this ahead of time... but I digress I worked harder that week than I had all year - maybe even in the last 5 years.
Then I started my job last week - and since the person I replaced left over a month earlier, I have had some long days trying to figure out the lay of the land. It's not going to be easy, but I am so happy for the challenge and it seems like an amazing group of intelligent and talented people.
oh, and I start my day at 6:00am....pretty tough adjustment. ouch
so there's our story - you can catch more details on our next show. We'll be recording tonight, so it should be up soon. Maybe we'll make November 1st the kick off of getting back in the saddle.

ok, it's a cheesy subject line, but I'm going on a few hours sleep, a bit of a hangover, and I'm still a bit gushy over last night.
When we read that graydancer and cunningminx were coming to town, we knew we had to meet them. And since we wanted to find a way to get more time with them than just shouting over the masses at Folsom, we organized a cocktail gathering. We did not get as much one on one time with Graydancer and minx as we would have liked. There was some shop talk, but the rope that Graydancer brought stayed in it's bag. Fortunately, we will be getting together on Tuesday to check out Midori's photo exhibit and hopefully dinner. minx, I have to pass along that your beautiful exhibitionism was most welcome - and humorously I hear that it made it a bit difficult for our house guest to get to sleep that night.
